The positive of this is that you can use a ‘free’ platform like Facebook to reach a number of new clients, and secure the brand loyalty of your current ones by engaging with them as you choose. One thing to be aware of, is that the market can be very saturated with brands clamouring to be seen and heard, just as you are. So this is a great opportunity to think about what makes you unique in the eyes of your customers.

However, while this younger demographic is the most common, the fastest growing age group on Facebook are users born in or before 1945! They jumped from 24% in 2018 to a massive 38% at the end of 2019.

This is great to be aware of for targeting specific audiences with your brand and/or products. Knowledge is power, but the most important knowledge is that of your own brand. Who do YOU want to reach with your products and services? If you know that, you’ll be able to use Facebook and other marketing platforms with ease!

While Facebook is an amazing way to connect with family, friends, and clients, it does have the usual internet issues. It is estimated that there are over 81 million fake profiles on Facebook. However, even a fake profile could be a chance to reach a real person on the other end!

How to use Facebook for your company:

You don’t need to add every client and customer to your personal Facebook profile! You can set up a Facebook Business Page that you monitor with your personal account, making it easy to professionally communicate with current and potential customers. Setting up and customizing your page with hours, reviews, photos and a link to your website is easy, and it’s easy to invite your friends and family to check out your business on Facebook.

You can even add buttons to your page where visitors of your Facebook Business Page will be prompted to ‘get in touch’, meaning they can jump to messaging your business, however you want them to reach you, ‘book services’ if you want to automatically book an appointment with your business, and so much more.

Hot tip: Have something important you want communicated with your audience? Maybe you created a post about your company going eco-friendly, extending its hours, or offering a new and exciting service? Pin that post to the top of your Facebook business page! That way, customers will see that post right away when they reach your page.
